Friday, 14th June, 2013

Our Senior Tax Manager, Tom Barry is celebrating after qualifying as an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute, Chartered Tax Advisor.

Tom successfully passed the Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) exams over a two year period.

He was exempt from the first year of exams having qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2000. Tom studied an intensive course at the Independent College Dublin on Dawson Street.

Tom said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have finally completed my CTA exams following a couple of years of hard work and four grueling three-hour papers.

“As a Chartered Tax Advisor I will be better placed to understand our clients’ needs and help them to structure their affairs in tax efficient ways.”

Commenting on Tom’s success, Dermot Brennan, the firm’s managing partner, said: “Tom has worked very hard to qualify as a Chartered Tax Advisor and we are very proud of his achievements.

“Having Tom on-board as a fully qualified tax advisor will strengthen our tax offering and ensure we continue to improve and develop the advisory services we offer to our clients.”

Tom now advises individuals and small to medium businesses on a range of taxes including property tax planning, the transfer of business ownership in a tax efficient manner and advising on estate planning. He also brings to the firm a wealth of experience in both agriculture and the food industry from his family farming background in Dunboyne, County Meath and previous role as Financial Controller with Brady Family Hams.

Congratulations Tom!
