Key Responsibilities
Income Tax Function:
• Lead and manage the firm’s income tax function, ensuring efficient and accurate delivery of all personal tax compliance services
• Leverage the income tax function to identify and deliver personal tax planning opportunities for clients
• Oversee the preparation and review of income tax returns for individuals, directors, and high-net-worth clients
• Act as the subject matter lead on income tax and personal tax planning matters
• Identify planning opportunities for business owners and individuals, including remuneration strategies, residency considerations, and succession planning
• Manage Revenue interactions relating to income tax, including queries, audits, and disclosures
• Ensure all filing deadlines are met and that internal processes are robust, efficient, and scalable
• Continuously improve workflows, controls, and processes within the income tax cycle
Client Service & Advisory
• Manage a portfolio of clients across a range of industries, ensuring a high-quality and timely service
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, proactively managing relationships and expectations
• Deliver clear, practical tax advice across all Irish tax heads, with a strong focus on income tax and shareholder/director matters
• Advise on business structuring, reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border expansion
• Produce clear and concise reports and presentations for clients
• Engage directly with Revenue on all client matters as required
• Ensure all client compliance obligations are met to the highest standard
Technical & Compliance
• Carry out and review technical tax research to support client advice and submissions
• Provide commercially focused insights to support client decision-making
• Identify tax risks and opportunities through proactive review of client affairs
• Keep up to date with Irish tax legislation and ensure knowledge is shared across the team
• Ensure consistent technical quality across all work delivered
Portfolio & Workflow Management
• Plan and oversee the delivery of client assignments, ensuring deadlines and service standards are met
• Manage workflow across the tax team, particularly within the income tax cycle
• Coordinate with audit, accounting, and advisory teams to deliver joined-up client solutions
• Monitor WIP, billing, and recoverability for assigned clients
Business Development
• Identify opportunities for additional work within existing client relationships
• Support the development of new business through meetings, proposals, and follow-ups
• Contribute to the development of tax service offerings and client-focused solutions
• Assist in achieving fee targets and supporting firm growth
• Enhance the firm’s profile through technical articles and participation in external events
People Management & Team Development
• Support, mentor, and develop trainees and junior staff members
• Review work prepared by junior team members and provide clear, constructive feedback
• Assist with delegation, training, and day-to-day oversight of team workloads
• Contribute to performance management processes where required
• Promote a collaborative and high-performing team culture
Additional Responsibilities
• Support billing processes and ensure timely collection of fees
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal systems and processes
• Maintain high professional, ethical, and compliance standards at all times
